These terms govern your use of the American Flight Schools website and our flight training, aircraft rental, membership, and gift certificate services. Read them alongside any local agreement provided by the school or club at your home airport.
01Acceptance of These Terms
By using the American Flight Schools website, booking a flight, purchasing a gift certificate, joining as a member, or training with us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
02Who We Are
American Flight Schools is a network of flight schools and flying clubs operating at multiple airports in Colorado and California. Some services are delivered by the individual school or club at your home airport, and additional local terms may apply.
03Eligibility and Requirements
Flight training and aircraft rental are subject to FAA regulations, our own standards, and insurance requirements. These standards exceed FAA minimums and not every applicant will qualify.
- You must provide proof of U.S. citizenship or TSA approval where required
- You must hold current certificates and medical documentation appropriate to the activity
- You must complete our checkout process before renting aircraft
- Submitting an application or payment does not guarantee acceptance, checkout, or scheduling
04Scheduling and Cancellations
Reservations are made through our scheduling system and are subject to aircraft and instructor availability. Cancellation windows, no-show policies, and any associated fees are set by your home airport location and provided to you at the time of booking.
We may cancel or reschedule a flight at any time for weather, maintenance, airspace, staffing, or safety reasons. Safety always comes first.
05Pricing and Payment
Rates for instruction, aircraft rental, membership, and programs are subject to change. Program pricing based on FAA minimum flight hour requirements does not guarantee completion within those hours; additional flight or instructor time is billed at current rates.
Payment is due as described at the time of booking or enrollment. Accounts not paid when due may result in suspended scheduling privileges.
06Gift Certificates
Gift certificates are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase unless stated otherwise, are non-refundable, and may not be redeemed for cash. Scheduling is subject to availability.
07Membership
Membership terms, dues, and benefits are described in your membership agreement. Membership may be suspended or terminated for non-payment, violation of club standards, or conduct that compromises safety.
08Assumption of Risk
Flight training and aircraft operations involve inherent risks. You acknowledge these risks and agree to follow all safety directions given by our instructors and staff. Separate waiver and release documents may be required before certain activities.
09Conduct
We expect professional, courteous conduct from members, students, and guests at all facilities and in all aircraft. We may refuse or discontinue service to anyone whose conduct is unsafe, disruptive, or in violation of our policies.
10Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, photographs, and course materials, is owned by American Flight Schools or its licensors and may not be reproduced or distributed without written permission.
11Website Use
You agree not to misuse the website, attempt to gain unauthorized access, interfere with its operation, or use automated means to scrape content. Information on this site is provided for general purposes and does not replace official FAA guidance or instruction from a certificated instructor.
12Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
Our services are provided on an “as is” basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, our liability arising out of your use of the website or our services is limited to the amount you paid for the service in question.
13Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless American Flight Schools, its affiliated schools and clubs, and their officers, employees, and instructors from claims arising out of your violation of these terms or your misuse of our services.
14Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Arapahoe County, Colorado.
15Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The revised terms take effect when posted, and the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
