Alex (AJ) is a Colorado native whose passion for aviation was sparked at a young age by his grandfather, a private pilot who owned a small aircraft, and close friends who shared the skies. He completed all of his flight training at Aspen Flying Club while working the front desk. This is where he developed his skills and deepened his commitment to aviation.
Before pursuing a career in aviation, AJ worked as an Emergency Vehicle Technician, specializing in building and outfitting police cars and fire trucks. This background in precision, safety, and service carries over into his work as a flight instructor, where he emphasizes attention to detail and professionalism in every lesson.
When he’s not flying, AJ enjoys the great outdoors—hiking, snowboarding, surfing, and riding his motorcycle through Colorado’s mountain roads. His adventurous spirit and love for teaching make him a relatable, passionate, and skilled instructor dedicated to helping others achieve their aviation goals.
